Cooking Up a Career in the Culinary Arts
A native of Waukee, Logan Russell has long been focused on a career revolving around food. He says after comparing culinary programs from across the country, the decision to choose DMACC was an easy one.
"DMACC offers the same curriculum as most of the others I looked at," Logan says. "Plus, it was closer to home so it was a good decision for me."
Now more than a year into the program, he has more than a healthy appreciation for cooking. He is thankful for those who surround him at the ICI.
"The thing I enjoy most is the group of people I've met. There is a wide range of people. The instructors are great too," Logan says. He has also learned about more than basting, baking and broiling."
Scholarships have also helped Logan to remain focused on his studies.
"I don't have to worry about finances," he says, "and paying for college hasn't been a burden for my family."
